In 2010 BVG (Berlin Transport) were expanding the U5 line in front of the Rotes Rathaus, Berlin’s main town hall. BVG took the opportunity to exhibit the developing subway line at Berlin’s famous Festival of Lights, where iconic buildings are beautifully lit.
BVG wanted to create attention and interest in what was happening underground as well as above during the Festival of Lights. The Rotes Rathaus was going to be part of the festival, which gave BVG a chance to demonstrate the work they were doing.
Working for Familie Redlich (BVG’s communication agency) with the BVG logo, we projected video content onto a 3D cube. The video contained interesting and unusual information about the subway. Taking inspiration from the illuminated Rotes Rathaus we crafted a motion graphic that allowed us to draw the existing audience from the Festival of Lights to the BVG showcase.
